International English Language Testing System
Who needs it?
Anyone applying for an Australian visa (skilled migration, student, partner), university admission, or professional registration. Available in Academic and General Training formats.
National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy
Who needs it?
Australian school students in Years 3, 5, 7, and 9. Tests literacy (reading, writing, language conventions) and numeracy. Results matter for selective school entry and academic placement.
Pearson Test of English Academic
Who needs it?
Accepted for Australian student visas, skilled migration, and university entry. Fully computer-scored with fast results (usually within 5 business days). Popular alternative to IELTS.
Occupational English Test
Who needs it?
Required for overseas-trained healthcare professionals (doctors, nurses, pharmacists, dentists) registering with AHPRA or other Australian health boards. Tests profession-specific language.
Cambridge C1 Advanced (formerly CAE)
Who needs it?
Accepted by many Australian universities and employers as proof of high English proficiency. Lifetime validity (unlike IELTS). Suitable for those aiming for C1 or C2 level certification.
